Just like yesterday, today’s passage can easily make one despondent.  However, it does contain some great points of hope.  God’s love is steadfast and never ceases.  His mercies are new every morning.  So, even when times are hard and we experience suffering, let us put our hope and trust in God.  I will not complain…OK, I will strive to not complain, when God punishes me for my sins.  Instead I will do as the prophet suggests.  I will examine my actions and turn once more to the Lord, seeking to do His will in all things.  If you are suffering, call out to the Lord and He will come near and soothe your fears.  God reigns forever and He will restore us.  Cry out to the Lord and ask Him to cleanse your spirit.  He will do so.  If you desire to walk with Him the Lord will not cast you away from His presence.
